Service Description
For teachers & students, this workshop explores trauma informed language, connecting with your deepest tissues, and considering how they relate to trauma stored in the body. Through optimal ergonomics, sensing bone, and softening tissue, deep processing and release is available. A great course for those who feel they are still carrying their traumas, who are maligned, and suffering with hip, knee, back, foot, ankle, jaw and other pain. Some of this work is based on Liz Koch's book, "Core Awareness" & "The Psoas Book", recommended reading. How Can You Strengthen Your Core & Free the Psoas for Lasting Relief? The psoas tissue is more recently being understood as an organ of perception, rather than a hip flexor muscle. This tenderloin-like tissue is directly related to our nervous system and fight or flight. It has been referred to as the body’s emotional storage center, holding tension from past experiences and daily stress and Traditional Chinese Medicine coined the psoas “the muscle of your soul”. When it remains tight or strained, it becomes weaker, shorter, and less coherent. Once this happens, it can contribute to persistent hip, back, knee, ankle and/or even jaw discomfort. Treat Yourself Wellness offers a focused workshop on psoas muscle relief that goes beyond surface-level approaches. This program is designed to help teachers, students, and wellness professionals understand the deep connection between movement, awareness, and the body’s ability to process trauma. At the heart of this program is the recognition that the psoas tissue is not just a structural component—it’s a central part of your body’s response to stress. When unresolved trauma lingers, it often shows up as tightness or discomfort in the body. This workshop introduces trauma-informed language and movement practices that encourage safe processing and gradual healing. Through techniques such as sensing bone alignment, softening & hydrating connective tissue, and improving ergonomics, participants are guided toward psoas muscle pain relief that addresses both body and mind. The result is not only greater physical comfort but also an improved sense of calm and balance in everyday life.

VARIATION Treat Yourself Wellness shall have the right in its absolute discretion at any time and without notice to amend, remove or vary the Services and/or any page of this Website. OFFICE HOURS/CUSTOMER SERVICE Treat Yourself Wellness is open for appointment only and telephone or internet communication between 9:00am and 5:00pm PST, Monday to Friday. After hours requests will be responded to by the next business day. If not, please reach out again, as Treat Yourself Wellness values your service and intends to support you in every way possible. REFUNDS Treat Yourself Wellness does not offer refunds for service. On a case by case evaluation, Treat Yourself Wellness may offer a credit towards future services, and that credit has an expiry date, from date of purchase. DISCOUNTS Treat Yourself Wellness provides discounts and early bird rates. Treat Yourself Wellness posts all early bird specials on the Website and requires registration and payment prior to the end of the specified date. Other discounts may be available regarding sale items in the Treat Yourself Wellness studio. CANCELLATION There is a 24 hour cancellation policy regarding all classes, including online group coaching calls, group classes (excluding drop in), and one on one sessions. You will have the opportunity to reschedule via online scheduler, based on availability. In the event of a no show or cancellation past the 24 hour policy, Treat Yourself Wellness will charge 50% of the full payment for the session/s. For late arrivals, sessions will end at the scheduled time, and the full fee will be charged. To discontinue or unsubscribe from monthly memberships, please send a written notice to support@treatyourselfwellness.ca 30 days prior to the desired termination date. Without written notice, Treat Yourself Wellness will continue to charge for monthly subscriptions. COMPLAINTS Treat Yourself Wellness offers support to our clients and a complaints handling procedure which we will use to try to resolve disputes when they first arise, with a solution that is mutually agreeable to both the client and Treat Yourself Wellness.
